STEERING COMMITTEE

With more than 40 CLC chapters across the country all serving the same purpose, the CLC steering council was formed to introduce young construction professionals to AGC. We, the steering council for the CLC Austin Chapter, are excited to keep the organization going with your support and participation. A little bit about each of us is listed in the following:

Roby graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014 with a B.S. in Construction Management and a Minor in Business Administration. After his graduation, he was hired by Jay-Reese Contractors, Inc. as a Project Engineer working on various projects including Pedestrian, Railroad and TXDOT Bridges before transitioning to Project Management. Now as a Project Manager, Roby is involved in the coordination and management of all projects for Jay-Reese Contractors, Inc. He has been involved in AGC activities since 2015. In his free time he enjoys listening to live music, playing golf and being outdoors.

Matt, originally from Aurora, CO graduated from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015 with a B.S. in Construction Engineering and a minor in Marketing. After his internships, he was hired by Hensel Phelps, and began working on the operations side at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport Expansion before transitioning to the estimating team in 2017 and is now a Lead Estimator, Matt works on a variety of different projects. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his wife Lexi and their two dogs, Kodiak and Rockie.

Joseph is the Vice President and Cofounder of Opifex Equipment Rental, Austin’s only minority owned construction equipment rental company. His primary role is managing and directing a multi-member sales team while building strategic business relationships with clients. Outside of revenue generating activities, Joe has advised on multimillion dollar debt raises, corporate strategy, tax structure, and assisted in negotiations on cross border asset purchases with some of the largest manufacturers and lenders in the world.

After completing his undergraduate degree in Business, he attended Texas A&M where he received a Masters Degree in Business. Joe is an avid outdoorsmen and a natural extrovert, you will find him hunting, fishing, and golfing with friends, family, and colleagues whenever he isn’t working or traveling.

Megan graduated from Texas State University with a B.A. in Art and a Minor in Business Administration. Megan put her creative side to work in 2018 when she joined the construction world with little to no knowledge about the A/E/C industry. She is now a Marketing Coordinator at Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing and still loves learning about all the ins and outs of the construction world. She has been involved with the AGC networking committee since 2019. In Megan’s free time, she enjoys painting, playing or learning new sports, being outdoors and spending time with family.

Lauralynn Arellano, originally from Houston, TX holds a degree in Public Relations from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to joining ISEC, Inc. she held roles in the nonprofit industry for nearly ten years. During her time at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Lauralynn joined the ISEC, Inc team, a nationwide leader in the architectural woodwork industry, where she currently leads Business Development strategy for the Texas Region with a majority of her time spent in Austin and San Antonio. Lauralynn is currently on the board for the Leadership San Antonio Alumni Association and in her free time can be found in the gym, volunteering, and spending time with family.

Dominique graduated from Tarleton State University in 2020 with a B.S. in Construction Science & Management. She dove right into the construction world when she took on an APM internship position with Bartlett Cocke General Contractors before joining the team full time as a Preconstruction Coordinator. Dominique joined the Construction Leadership Council Austin Chapter in 2020. In her free time, she enjoys running and working out, working on DIY projects, being outdoors and spending time with family.

Jacob manages sales and market strategy for The Demo Company’s central Texas office.  A graduate of Auburn University with a decade of GIS and AEC experience, he has always been passionate about serving the needs of his clients and community.

While his primary role is sustaining revenue, Jacob started in the estimating office and actively supports TDC’s preconstruction efforts allowing him engage with customers on technical and logistical project challenges.

When he isn’t helping TDC clients he enjoys long, over budget home improvement projects, aimlessly chasing the North American Wild Turkey and working on his double-digit handicap.
